Shellfish License Update

The Board of Selectmen and Shellfish Department understand that all shellfish licenses are due to expire on April 1, 2020. Thus, the Board of Selectmen have voted on March 30, 2020 the following adjustments to the expiration of Shellfish Licenses due to Covid -19.

ALL SENIOR LICENSES from 2019, Commercial and Family, will be extended to expire on April 1, 2021. If you had an active Shellfish license and are a Senior, you are all set. Hold on to the one you have.

ALL NON-SENIOR FAMILY LICENSES from 2019 will be extended to expire JUNE 1, 2020.

ALL NON-SENIOR COMMERCIAL LICENSES from 2019 will be extended to expire JUNE 1, 2020.

If you did not have a license from 2019 or need a one-time use license, you will still need to acquire a new license to legally shellfish in Edgartown, please contact Kristy Rose in the Board of Selectmen’s Office for direction so we can work out how to get one to you. krose@edgartown-ma.us or 508-627-6180

Shellfish Licenses:

Shellfish Licenses are available in the Board of Selectmen’s Office during regular business hours. During the summer months they are sold at the front desk of Town Hall from 10-1 and 2-4 M-F.

Annual Shellfish licenses run from April 1st to March 31st.
