  • The Park and Recreation Commissioners are responsible for the following sites: South Beach, Bend in the Road at State Beach, Robinson Road Recreation area and Cannonball Park.

South Beach

The lifeguards are on duty from 9am to 5pm starting June 23 and going through Labor Day. The beaches close at midnight.

South Beach does not allow alcohol, organized parties or open fires. No dogs are allowed on the beach.

As a safety precaution we ask that no holes be dug on the beach as they can become very dangerous.

Beach wheelchairs are available at the South beach shack at right fork from July 1 - Labor Day.

Portable toilets are available at South Beach from June 23 through Labor Day.

Robinson Road Rec Area
Residents of Edgartown must obtain a taxpayer ID card at the Robinson Road Rec area, Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm for $50.00. This entitles the resident card holder to tennis and swimming lessons. You need to bring proof of residency to obtain a taxpayer ID card. Robinson Road Rec area is located near the Boys and Girls Club and Edgartown School.No dogs are allowed at the rec area. Portable Toilets are available at Robinson Road in July.

Tennis lessons
Tennis lessons are given at Robinson Road Rec area and you can sign up with the Park Personnel at Robinson Road.

Group tennis lessons are given to ages 3-13 with a Women's round robin on Monday from 4-5:30pm.

Schedules for swimming lessons and tennis lessons will be posted in June.

Basketball lessons

Park and Rec has introduced an exciting basketball clinic at Robinson Road. This program is for girls and boys ages 7-12. There will be more information and a schedule on the website in June.

Arts & Crafts

Arts and Crafts will be scheduled at a later date at Robinson Road.
